Alright all you Halo fans out there I thought I would update you with what is happening with Reach so far. They have released a few screenshots and told us a few things we can expect from this game.
So What's New?
The Game Engine
The entire game engine for Reach has been significantly overhauled which means there will be twice as many enemies on screen at one time,
higher resolution textures, increased poly counts, and radically improved animation systems which basically means better graphics. Also because they are dealing with a new system all the weapons, vehicles, characters, and objects had to be re-built from the ground up.
Armor Abilities
These are replacing the equipment that was in Halo 3. Armor ablities can be used again and again. Armor abilities have a recharge time and can be used over and over again until they are switched out for a different one. Only two of these have been revealed so far. Camo and Sprint.
Camo allows you to turn invisible when ever you want, but although you'll be invisible your radar will not work.
Sprint allows to run at significantly increased speeds for a few seconds.
There was a leak about this information a while back and it all seems to be true, so another one mentioned is a Hologram ability which allows you to create a hologram of yourself and the enemy will not know which is the real you. Whether the hologram is true or not I am not sure, that one was just a rumor. So we will see.
You can choose to do an assassination on enemies that don't see you.

Also the shield system from the first Halo is back since this is a prequel to the Halo series.
Weapons
The Assault rifle has a different look. looks more like a gun instead of a plastic toy. Click for High Res. goodness.

DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) Medium-long range weapon, semi-automatic replaces the battle rifle. Reminds me of the FAL from Modern Warfare 2.

Needle Rifle (A mix between the Carbine and Needler)

Sniper Rifle (More powerful and from what I have heard it's bolt action.)

Vehicles
Love the detail in the Warthog. (There are several comparison pictures, comparing from Halo: CE through Halo: Reach. Reach is the last one in case anyone is confused.)Click for High Res goodness.

The Phantom now has a spotlight in night levels

All civilian vehicles are now drivable

The Falcon

The Spirit

Enemies
The Grunt

The Return of the Elite

Skirmishers (Cousins of the Jackals from previous Halo games)

The Characters
Noble Team
Noble 6 (The character you play as during campaign)

The rest of Noble team

Wow, that looks intense! My extensive knowledge of Halo tells me that is true. Neat though! Halo seems to come out with new versions every few years, and they keep getting better I guess. Not like when they make sequels to a movie and it is way worse than the first one and everyone wonders why the even bothered... yeah.
It looks good Will, looks more military style than Halo usually is.
