My friend Amanda @ Welcome to My Life gave me this award and challenged me to do it, so here it is: ten honest things about me.
1) My biggest regret in life so far, as I was telling a friend today, is that I could have done so much better in college. I graduated with a pathetic GPA when I know I could have been a mostly A student if I had tried. I will always regret this.
2) I'm trying to breastfeed my daughter, Joci, for about a year. It's been nine days, and I've remembered... it's hard. At this age they eat every 2-4 hours, 8-12 feedings per day. Each feeding takes about 1/2 hour. That's 4-6 hours every day. Not to mention the soreness of being too full and the pain when she latches on (which is getting better, but still there). I'm sticking by my decision, but it's taking more of my willpower than I thought it would.
3) I'm glad to have children. More than glad. I love my daughters desperately. However, I miss the body I had when I got married, and if I ever have the money, you can bet I'm lasering these stretch marks away.
4) I am also lasering away my leg hair. I hate shaving my legs and Will doesn't find them appealing when they're hairy (I know, weird, right?). Unfortunately for both of us, I'd have to shave every day to always have smooth legs, so they'll be getting lasered.
5) I already wish someone would watch Joci for one night so I could just one night of unbroken sleep. I've started getting migraines because of lack of sleep and a screwed up schedule. Gross.
6) When I was in preschool I had a boyfriend named Bobby. Thinking back, I wonder if he knew that he was. I also had a boyfriend named Bobby in the sixth grade.
7) In high school, I would blush if a boy who was even remotely attractive made direct eye contact with me. I am not exaggerating. I was painfully shy around guys until I was 20, at which point I became a flirt and a flake until I met Will and was reformed. I met Will at 21, so my fun didn't last long.
8) I love the idea of gardening, but I'm not sure how I'll do if I ever get a chance to have one of my own. I'd get it planted ok, but probably lose interest once I realize how much work it really is. I'll probably try and talk some poor soul into sharing a garden with me someday and then abandon them with the work until harvest time, when I'll show up with a bunch of empty baskets and my kids to do all the picking.
9) I'm afraid that my daughters will hate me when they're teenagers, especially Chaela (since I don't know Joci very well yet). She's so strong-willed and independent that I know she won't want to listen to me. I'm afraid she'll get into trouble, and I'm afraid I'll try too hard to control her and lose her instead. This is one of my greatest fears.
10) I don't understand why people fight so hard these days to hold onto irresponsibility, extending what used to be a college lifestyle into their late twenties and early thirties (and beyond). Maybe I'm just weird, but I don't think that the years of being single and partying should be the best years of your life. I believe these years, the ones where I am a grown-up, are the best of my life. They're not the most fun. They're hard, and sometimes they're downright scary, especially with money as tight as it is, but I'm more fulfilled and happy than I could ever be wasting my life thinking only of myself.
So, now I'm supposed to award this challenge to five other people. I'll list you, and you can participate if you want. Also feel free to do it if I don't list you.

Awesome! I am so glad that you did this! Sorry for not coming to see you yet, for the next week I have an insane schedule at work but I swear soon I will come!
I agree that trying to live like a 21 year old well into your mid-twenties is dumb....I know a lot of people that were into that and it makes me insane.....I love being grown up, having a house and things that I'm responsible for, it makes me feel like I have a purpose!
It's really hard to come up with 10 things to say! But I did it! Now that I have though I can't think of anything else to write my comment about... that dried out my brain.
cool meme! i agree with you and amanda: i enjoyed college, but that's what those 4 years are for. i think having a partner, family, job, things you're responsible for, that that's what life is all about! is there more that i wish i could have crammed in to that time? of course! (my sister saved up to go to ITALY and TURKEY for 6 weeks this summer with her bff and yes, i'm jealous, but no, i wouldn't trade places with her).
also, way to go with the breastfeeding goal! i know you can do it! if you run into roadblocks along the way, i know a great columbus CLC and have other CLC contacts who can answer questions over email. :-)
